Premier Bank’s Gelsomino: Take Things ‘One Day At A Time’

Trish Gelsomino, downtown Youngstown branch manager for Premier Bank, is coming back strong. You can read more about Premier at its website.

What are some ways COVID-19 has affected your organization, and what are you doing to manage its impact?

Premier Bank has taken a cautious approach for the health and safety of our employees and those we serve.  All bank lobbies are by appointment only and all drive-thru locations are open normal business hours to serve customers.

What has been the response of your customers so far?

Our customers reflect the strength of the Community we serve.  They have been supportive, patient and responsive to the changes we have made so that we can continue to meet their needs.

How has COVID affected your personal life, and how have you dealt with it?

My philosophy since the beginning has been to use common sense, listen to recommendations, but not to allow the circumstances to overshadow my day to day.  Like so many of us, this has given me more of an opportunity to slow down and be at home.  And…my husband and I started playing cards instead of watching so much TV.  Our game of choice is Gin Rummy. He will say I win all the time, but that’s not true.

How do you feel about the recently approved COVID vaccines, and what are your plans regarding vaccination?

I am optimistic about the COVID vaccines and plan to be vaccinated when it is available to me.

What advice or thoughts are you sharing with those you love?

I am encouraging those I love to focus on things one day at a time.  The impact of COVID has looked different for everyone. It is important to me to be sensitive to everyone’s experience.  My goal is to listen and empathize with those who have been impacted in ways I have not.
