Canfield’s Knoll: Cardinals Now Learning Onsite, Remotely

Joe Knoll, superintendent at Canfield Local Schools, is coming back strong. To learn more about the district, visit its website.

What are some ways your district is dealing with the effects of COVID-19?

Canfield decided to offer in-person learning and create the Canfield Digital Academy this school year to meet the educational needs of our students. We have about 85 percent of our kids attending in-person and 15 percent (~400) using our online school. The safety and well-being of our students and staff continues to be our first priority.

What’s been the reaction from students and parents so far?

We have had a tremendous start to the school year. Our students and parents have been very supportive of our safety measures put in place, not only to start the school year, but also, to be able to continue in-person school.

What impact has the outbreak had on you personally?

I have a son with special needs that is more vulnerable, so my wife and I have worked hard to follow all the safety precautions.

What advice are you sharing with the people you love?

Mask up…practice social distancing…wash your hands. Look out for one another!
