AngeNetta’s Olin: Family-Style Menu, Carry-Out For Now

Phyllis Olin, co-owner of AngeNetta’s Restaurant in Canfield, is coming back strong, along with her family. You can read more about her restaurant, bakery and catering services at the AngeNetta’s website.

What are some ways your business is rebounding from the effects of COVID-19?

AngeNetta’s never closed during this pandemic. We remained open for carry-out, curbside pickup and delivery, including maintaining our normal business hours. We created a new family-style menu to accommodate our customers. We post on social media daily to try to reach new customers. Unfortunately, we lost all of our June and July catering — graduation parties and weddings, the effects of which are devastating to us. At this time, we are still open for just carry-out. We are taking the opportunity to make some improvements around the restaurant. We hope to open our doors to indoor dining soon.

What’s been the reaction from customers so far?

Many of our customers are senior citizens and young families — the majority of whom are still supporting us through carry-out. Our customers have been amazing during this transition and have truly kept us going. We are grateful.

What impact has the outbreak had on you personally?

Our lives have changed drastically since March. We are a close-knit family and social distancing was hard on all of us. We have had the same small crew of employees since March to keep our business, staff and customers safe. This has meant longer hours and learning new ways to operate the business efficiently. Our customers and our employees are our family, and we miss seeing them.

What advice are you sharing with the people you love?

Our loved ones have been cautious and are respecting the Governor’s advice for keeping all Ohioans safe. We know this has been scary, but we hope there is an end in sight. Our grandchildren were homeschooled in a corner of the restaurant from March to the end of May. We all had to adjust our lives, but it’s a small sacrifice for keeping everyone healthy and safe. We pray that we can all go back to normal soon, if we can all work together.
