Launched in early 2020 to chronicle the Mahoning Valley’s battle again COVID-19, Valley Tough now spotlight the many strains of toughness that make this Valley a great place.
We spotlight leaders in business, nonprofit and government organizations across Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties and reflect the strength, faith, diversity and toughness of the Valley.
The Valley Tough team believes wholeheartedly in the awesome power of effective communication to sustain and strengthen relationships, advance business objectives and rally people, even in dire situations.
Kelli Hulea, Project Director
Kelli manages the Valley Tough website and social media channels and coordinates outreach to content contributors. She also manages the art and programming activities that support valleytough.org.
Her project direction skills come from her work with Pecchia Communications, where she has managed social media efforts and a wide range of digital and traditional communication activities for the firm’s clients since 2017.
Kelli grew up in North Lima and lives in Canfield with her husband, Gannon, and their two dogs. You can read more about her here.
Dan Pecchia, Editor
Dan serves as lead editor for the site. A former Vindicator business editor, Dan and his team at Pecchia Communications have supported communications efforts for large corporations across the Midwest and small businesses and nonprofits throughout the Valley since 2005.
Dan was born and raised on Youngstown’s East Side and lives in Canfield with his wife, Betsy. They have three grown children and a granddaughter. You can read more about him here.
