Food 4 Your Soul’s White: ‘May Be Cloudy, But There Is Sun’

Michelle White, owner of the Food 4 Your Soul catering service in Youngstown, is coming back strong. You can read more about the service at its Facebook page.

What are some ways the COVID-19 outbreak has affected your organization, and how is it rebounding?

COVID has brought a huge decline in catering events and overall sales. We have had to refund 48 percent of our events for the 2020 summer season. Being a small, family-run business, you can only imagine the toll that is taking on our family.

Has the outbreak affected your personal life?

Yes, indeed. We have had to make life adjustments and really think outside the box to create our normal revenue.

What steps are you taking to come back strong?

We’re leasing kitchen space now but we’re looking to move into a new kitchen. We are doing our best to make due with COVID.

Finding a permanent location may be difficult. But we have faith. God has never left us out in the dark so we have high faith. My daughters and I are putting our minds together to come up with a plan of action for us to grow.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support the pop-up restaurant missions we organize to serve the community. The page can be found at this link.

What advice are you sharing with the people you love?

To never give up and to never stop pushing. It may be cloudy, but there is sun behind those clouds and from that sunlight we will blossom and overcome anything that was in our way! We are warriors!
